Kwame Brown was the first ever NBA player who got picked first in the draft. He played for 7 teams from 2001 to 2013. The 6 ft. 11 in. player was picked by the Washington Wizards as a center. Although he was given leeway to develop, he never reached the maturity needed for a solid career. Other players drafted in 2001 included Pau Gasol and Tony Parker.
