Michael Olowokandi, No. 1, 1998, Clippers

Nicknamed the “Candy Man,” Olowokandi stood at 7 ft. and was drafted by the Los Angeles Clippers to fill their center slot. Due to the NBA lockout, he signed to play in Italy for Kinder Bologna, before playing five seasons with the Clippers. As a center, he was never able to show the dominant traits needed for that role. Other players in the 1998 draft included Dirk Nowitzki, Paul Pierce and Vince Carter.
