The Tempest
The Tempest did not receive due recognition until the 20th century. The story of Prospero and her daughter Miranda is at turns about revenge, magic, romance and freedom. The play is almost meta in nature, being a play which is also concerned with its status as a play. The mention and use of magic by Prospero was also defined as one of benign or good magic, mainly because during the time, magic and witchcraft led to burning at the stake.
