The Giant Mekong
The giant Mekong was included in the list of endangered species because of over-exploitation. Unlike most catfish, this specie has a strict vegetarian diet, feeding mainly on algae as well as detritus. However, when held captive, the giant Mekong can take any variety of food. The giant Mekong has an impressive characteristic of growing at an extraordinary rapid rate. It can even reach 150 to 200 kilograms in a span of 6 years.
