The channel catfish is highly valued for food and sporting. This specie is one of the most popular and is found in freshwater lake, river, stream and pond. It can be easily distinguished because of its spotted body as well as deep forked tail. You can easily distinguish it from other catfishes with blue and white colors and no spots. Some of this fish’s favorite preys include live or dead insects, crustaceans and small fishes.
